Morning Valley Constructions is insured through CGU insurances, and all work is fully guaranteed. If there is any aspect of the job, that you are not satisfied with we will come back and rectify it absolutely free.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Accepted Answer

We have a great love for building and carpentry, a keen eye for anything to do with timber and construction. When you have a plan and a view of the end product, the rest is easy.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

I have a few customer stories, but basically, I am happy to say that I have customers that have been returning to me for over ten years now. Good communication, and a up to date knowledge of the latest products and techniques, is essential.

What do you like most about your job?

I love all aspects of the building/carpentry trade, from supervising a job, and working with good competent trades (Plumber, electrician), seeing the job through to completion, and an eye for detail. (I don't like  to cut corners)

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

The questions to ask a service proffessional would be: Are you a registered building practitioner? Are you experienced in this type of work, and do you have any examples we can have a look at. Do you provide a certificate of compliance on completion of work? Are there any regulations we need to follow, and do you know what they are?

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

One of the most common questions is: what is the cheapest way we can renovate this rental property?  My answer is: Use flat pack Kitchen/laundry cupboards, purchase appliances, fittings and floor coverings from Auction places (ie Fowles auctions etc...) Do I need a permit to build my shed/carport or garage?  Temporary structures normally don't need permits, a quick phone call to local council, will give you an immediate answer, but applications don't take as long as you might think.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I have a list of clients, that I have been working for now for over ten years. Most of my work is through word of mouth. I have been with another service provider for the last 12 months (service central) but thought I would give One flare a go after hearing about them though colleges of mine. I take pride in giving people what they want, and make sure the work is the most punctual, professional and tidy as possible

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Personalized service and completely professional from start to finish of every job. I have great subcontractors that I can highly recommend and have been working with me for a number of years, whenever I need to bring in extra trades, like electricians, plumbers, tilers, etc... I also like to work in close communication with the client, to ensure they are happy with all aspects of the job.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Size and dimensions of job, preferably some sort of plan. Type of materials required, location, (upstairs or down stairs, heights, ladders, scaffold requirements) access requirements (parking etc..)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

You can save money by doing your own research. Pre purchasing a product  for installation before we come out. ie: flat pack kitchens etc... Do some research on the internet to establish exactly what type of installation and outcome your after. Get a few price comparisons from different tradesman.

What makes your pricing competitive?

My pricing is pretty much standard across the board. I dont have a call out fee as such, just a minimum. I do not charge for coming out to do a quote, and discussing the job with a client, and quite often just give advice.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

If employed by the hour, it is $50 + gst. So this is a standard $400 per day + gst. Most jobs are quoted with a fixed price at the end of it. If it is only a small job, that might possibly for less than 1 x hour, a minimum fee of $80 applies.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialize in Flooring/ timber/ Kitchen and Bathroom renovations, decking, Gates, decorative fencing, sheds, pergolas, windows and doors, fixing, skirtings and architraves, framing, all aspects of building.
