Site Preparation & Inspection Attend site and inspect the affected balcony area, including the cracked edge tile located beneath the airconditioning unit. Assess the surrounding tiles, grout lines, substrate, and waterproofing membrane for any secondary damage caused by the water leak. Identify all gaps, failed grout, and deterioration contributing to moisture penetration. 2. Removal of Damaged Tile Carefully remove the broken tile without damaging adjacent tiles or compromising surrounding areas. Remove all loose bedding material, grout, debris, and contaminants. Inspect the substrate and waterproofing layer underneath for any signs of failure or moisture retention. 3. Substrate Repair & Waterproofing Allow the substrate to dry fully if moisture is present. If the waterproofing membrane is found to be damaged or breached, apply a compatible patch repair membrane to reinstate waterproof integrity in the immediate area. Ensure the repaired membrane is fully cured before tile installation proceeds. 4. Install Replacement Tile Supply and install a matching or closestpossible replacement tile (tile to be provided by owner if exact match is required). Bed the tile using flexible, externalgrade tile adhesive suitable for balcony environments. Ensure the tile is level, aligned, and consistent with the existing balcony finish. 5. ReGrouting and Sealing Regrout around the new tile using externalgrade, flexible grout. Seal all perimeter joints and exposed edges with appropriate external silicone or polyurethane sealant to prevent future moisture ingress. Plug and seal all visible gaps that previously allowed water penetration. 6. AirConditioning Condensate Management Inspect the current condensate discharge point for the airconditioning unit located above the damaged tile. Supply and install suitable piping or conduit to redirect condensate runoff safely into the existing balcony downpipe, ensuring: Secure connections Correct fall/gradient Compliance with drainage flow Prevention of future discharge onto tiled surfaces Test the AC unit on cooling cycle to ensure correct water flow into the downpipe with no leaks. 7. Final Checks & CleanUp Conduct a full functional check of tile adhesion, grout curing, and sealing.
