How did you decide to get into your line of work?

IMP Building Group started from a family of builders. Being a builder only felt right especially after growing up in the industry and virtually living it. When something feels right, you just have to follow your instinct.

On Thursday 17th June 2014 I met my client at his Jindalee restaurant business (Jindalee Villa) where he was shutting his restaurant for renovations the following day. Not having found a builder, I met with my client and that afternoon had a price and booked in trades to start the following day on renovations. With only 2 weeks to finish before opening, we achieved a design they loved and completed his restaurant on time and on budget. With the new renovation and small investment our client has now boosted his business with new regulars and walk ins.

Are you a registered with the Qbcc? What has your experience been? What suppliers do you use? What is the realistic time frame going to be for this project? Are you willing to put your name on your product?

Customers generally ask...How much will it cost to...?  What I can suggest is that before any builder contacts you, have your mind made up and be very clear about what you want and the quality you want.  It is important that us as builders know what result and end product the customer wants so we can best deliver.

We will prefer a copy of plans before we would price your project depending on the size and scale. IMP Building Group can help if you don't have them. We would also like clear and thought out opinions as this is your project and we are here to provide our services to you.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1) Be clear about what you want. Try not to change too much from the plan. As variations can be costly. 2) Cheaper is not necessarily cheaper. Be careful of hidden costs and make sure your quotation has everything included to finish the job. Don't get caught out. You could be left paying double. 3) Let us know every detail about what you want as we are here to make this as enjoyable as we can and delivering a project you expected.

IMP is able to keep prices low as we have a good connection with our reputable suppliers who are able to deliver our quality products.

How do you normally charge for your service?

IMP will come out to you, sit down and get you to answer questions we have about your ideas for the finished product and then take plans or organise the steps to getting started. Once we have plans we will organise a lump sum fixed price. Payment is then requested as per the Master Builders Contract. Deposit and staged payments accordingly. If the job is smaller in scale we can organise a sketched plan, price and if excepted, a contracted signed. We then begin works within your timeframe.
