Glenn Rosen founded Glenco in 1988. Prior to commencing work in the electrical industry, Glenn had a successful athletics career representing Australia, competing in the US and Europe. In 1992 his brother Brad joined Glenco Electrical. Prior to that Brad was a Professional Basketballer, captaining the Sydney Kings in the National Basketball League. Glenn and Brad’s dedication, passion and competitiveness in sport has transferred into a successful career in the business world. They are highly regarded and well respected in the industry.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A customer insisted they wanted a dimmer in their bathroom. Surely you only want bright lighting in the bathroom! However they explained that if they use the bathroom at night they want to have the lights down low so it's not too bright. This makes sense and is something we actually now recommend.

Always check your electrician is fully licensed. With aircon, always check your contractor has the ARC tick of approval. Always check how long they have been in business and check their online reviews from a number of websites.

We often get asked to quote jobs over the phone. Whilst this can be done, it is often more beneficial for us to come out and provide a complimentary quotation.

We have systems in place that make us capable of monitoring our performance, as well as ensuring we arrive on time, and carry out all our work to the highest standard.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

If it is an installation we need to know what is being installed, and where, and what cabling/power sources are nearby. We may also ask you about what surface we are working with, and if the work has been approved by the property owner.

Know details of your job. For example, what light fitting you would like installed, where you would like a power point installed etc. This makes it easier for us to come out and assess the work, and give you an accurate price.

Glenco will always evaluate a job by weighing up quality and cost effectiveness. We know that no job has an open budget, so we will always communicate with our client to find a price that is reasonable.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Customers can pay with Cash, Cheque, Bank Transfer or Credit Card. Visa and Mastercard have a 1.5% surcharge, and Amex has a 3% surcharge.

We do not focus on only one area of the industry, but rather we ensure we are qualified and knowledgeable about all aspects of electrical. We carry out everything small repairs, to large rewires with the same care and attention from our electricians and our Management Team.
