Rollo (the rascal), our American Staffy came to us at 7 months old as a rescue with almost no prior training. While my partner and I attempted to train him, we lacked the correct knowledge on how to do so and he would hardly listen to us when we issued a command, especially if people and other dogs were around. He was impulsive and strong (30kg) and when he ran out into on-coming traffic (luckily only resulting in a few minor scrapes) it was time for us to act. We contacted John at Dogwise Training and worked out a training schedule. John came to our home and showed us how to affect change in Rollo’s behaviour. He gave us the tools to communicate and work with Rollo instead of every interaction becoming a battle against him. John trained both us and Rollo in behavioral and obedience basics, slowly building up to where we are today. With John's assistance, we now have a very different dog. He’s calmer, he listens and as a result, the whole family is happier for it. We still have a way to go, but with the skills and knowledge that John has conveyed, we have the ability to continue our work with Rollo. Melina watched our 3 cats numerous times (over 20) while we lived in Bondi for 3 years as expats. Anytime we had to travel, she would watch the cats, visiting multiple times per day.
