Fit For A King sure are. They catered dad’s funeral beautifully today (Jan 19, 2021). I was unsure what people would expect or want, and Sandy offered great help. After the Service we headed to the Reception and I saw peoples’ eyes light up. My brother (very non-bogan) whispered in awe ...’ look at the pies!’ Funerals make you emotional and it’s in this spirit I write. Everyone loved the food. Fit For A King deserve their awards. They hand-make their mini pies, sausage rolls and quiches. The pies are fulsome with a perfect balance of meat and the stuff that holds it together. You can sense they’re made with love. Mini sausage rolls are sprinkled with sesame seeds and miles from anything you think about when you hear ‘sausage rolls.’ Again, great food satisfies instantly. The ribbon sandwiches were dressed to present. Layers of salad, meats, and cheese with different breads: visually appealing, and enough to help picky teenagers pick one up, then go back for more. I needed to cater to gluten-free clients and they loved the very filling wraps provided. The directors had to gently nudge us out an hour after expected....people were still enjoying the catering and relaxing and laughing together. Back at home the first thing Mum (GF) wanted was more of the pies😂 ‘But you’re gluten-free mum...won’t you get a headache?’ ‘Doesn’t matter. I have tablets. Need more of these.’ I live a long way from this business. But I’ll always call Sandy now when something needs catering. Some people just make the day perfect. Red Sage Catering
