Location: Coburg, VICJob Description: We had an extension done for us by Hilles Home Extensions. We asked for a variation to the original plan that required a wall to be removed. The builder supplied us with the amended plan and informed us that as the wall was load bearing they had worked with their engineer to ensure that there were additional supports in place. The building was subsequently completed but shortly after the company went bust so they did not arrange a final building inspection. We have now been visited by the inspector who has informed us that we need a Regulation 126 certificate. We do not have this certificate as we were only supplied the amended plans. As a consequence, we need to engage a registered engineer to provide a report/detail/design of the installed beam and supports and supply a Regulation 126 for building work (inspection) once they have undertaken an inspection confirming it is structurally adequate.Service needed: Building defects inspection | Stage of process: Planning stage | Type of structure: Residential | Type of residence: Freestanding house | When: As soon as possible - Building Inspector job
