Mr Perera of Designplex 21 Architects was initially appointed by us to design a concept for a presbytery (accommodation facility for resident priests), within the existing property of the church. His research of presbyteries in metropolitan Perth and his own architectural skills were valuable in arriving at a design that met the approval of the parish Finance Committee. However, the presbytery idea was shelved in favour of a drop-off facility which the parish considered a priority. This subsequent design project involved the drop-off facility, a toilet block, landscaping and parking elements and he managed this job satisfactorily through concept and development approval stages. In 2014 my wife and I decided to upgrade the foyer area of our residence in Karrinyup. We decided to use the services of an Architect to draw up plans, call for building tenders and supervise the work of the successful tenderer. Several Architects expressed interest in the project. The stand out one was Designplex 21. What impressed us was that Nalin was willing to do quite a lot of preliminary drawings up front before a decision was made as to the successful applicant. We were impressed with the quality of his drawings and helpful suggestions made. Other applicants were reluctant to do much at all unless they got the job. Needless to say, Nalin's firm was appointed and successfully followed our project through to a very satisfactory result within our original budget estimate.
