25 Oct 2023Location: Upper Mount Gravatt, QLDJob Description: Umm, not sure, just getting an idea of what I can even do. OK, got people in the neighbourhood with chooks. I gather there's been problems. After 3+ years of peace and quiet - have rats coming in at least one access point, maybe more? I've put in temporary measures like using the white plastic strips to stuff up the hole under the area of a veranda with stairs where I think they're getting access (so I get warning by the rattling if they're coming in at night - I've chased them out by torchlight as I don't have electricity/ gas - costs of living!! Living on my super). Also using dregs of curbside pickups like expired bleach, eucalyptus oil to spray the area (again temprary measure). 1. What I THINK I need is for galavanised wire mesh to be put up in the area to stop acess at that point at least. 2. Also may need rat traps/ something to eliminate them as their poop indicate I have rat/(s)/ mouse (mice?) inside now lower floor (upper floor. (I'm doing maintenance bits at a time in terms of stripping wtll paper, painting, water-proofing, etc, etc, so it doens't deteriorate as much, at least until I save enough to get the proper trades to do the job!). So other than what the previous tenants left in terms of furniture, I have nothing upstairs. All my gear is still in boxes, and sack downstairs - which is why there may be issues assessing/tackling the problem *sigh* What am I looking at in terms of costs please? Oh, I don't have a phone so no photos - relaly sorry.
