We think he barks because we have left and because our backyard has a driveway that runs behind with lots of foot traffic. He never used to bark like this. It is more recently in the past two months. Not sure if it somehow has something to do with the introduction of a new dachshund (Barney, 6 months) into the family (we have had the new one since May and they get on quite well). Hoping for some tips or strategies or a recommendation of what we should do/look into. 17 Oct 2023Location: Miranda, NSWJob Description: We have just brought him a 9/10 week Pyrenean Mountain Dog. We have had the breed before but this puppy is proving difficult. We are trying to crate train for the first time and we have tried training him with treats to go into the crate but he still doesnt like it. He will whine and bark and we are constantly trying to correct the behaviour. We are also trying to house train him and actively trying to take him to the toilet but he is inconsistent and still sneaking off to poo and pee in the house. Final issue is that he doesnt want to be left alone and we are worried he is going to develop anxiety which will lead to lots of barking.
