Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes I am insured, I currently offer industry standard warranties, 1 year architectural and 5 years structural. Or whatever the product manufacturer offers for a particular item installed.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My grandfather was a high rise foreman/supervisor, in Europe. My father was a diesel mechanic and is now a builder. I was about 12 when I first sat on a backhoe, by the age of 16 I was well and truly on site. At 18 I started full time, I'm 38. Building is all I know.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I am a very professional builder, as is my father. we are very good at what we do, as it is all we do. I have over the years been able to further develop my knowledge base with the onset of new construction techniques and materials.    I offer my clients old world, sound principles with new styles.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

1. the site conditions, access, slope, the more descriptive the better 2. the square metres or a brief but accurate scope 3. your budget, or what you expect to pay. believe it or not but this helps, it tells us that you are serious.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I can now finally say that I am competitive as I have have acquired all the machines and tools and vehicles required to complete and work that I quote for. The only thing I don't have on hand are the materials from hardware stores.

How do you normally charge for your service?

As every job is different, I find it easier to charge in establishments, that is the amount of times I need to arrive to a particular site to perform work. e.g.; 1 day = 1 establishment

Earthmoving, Formwork, Concreting and Timber frame construction.    These are the early trades that I performed in order to achieve a Builders License.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have over the years gathered license' and skills that are not limited to the following; - Excavator operator (20 years), Truck License HR, Welding Cert 1, Machining Cert 1, Asbestos removal bonded and friable
