Location: Caringbah, NSWJob Description: We are installing a 100 diagonal, 20kg Electric Slimline Tab-tensioned Projector Screen in a small room, to hang from the ceiling about 42cm away from the rooms back wall, in front of a bookcase that spans the back wall. Having climbed into the roof above the room and drilled holes either side of the beams we planned to hang it from, so as to check the width, weve noted that the mounting brackets for the screen are too wide for the ceiling beams, meaning we can only reasonably affix two of the brackets four screws into the wood of the beam on either side and not at the ideal distances either, for that matter. We believe that installing the screen and hanging its weight safely from this ceiling will require an additional structural beam to be added into the roof space, or a spanning board to be put into the ceiling of the room, or perhaps some n-shaped mounts to be hooked over the beams and used to screw the brackets into. Alternatively, some very strong hooks could be inserted into the existing narrow beams and used for a suspended installation.
