Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I have public liability insurance, and can provide a certificate of insurance if required. The guarantee I give for my work is that I will provide the images you require, at the quality you desire, or I won't charge for the shoot.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

On announcing I intended making a career from photography, I was met with some scepticism from family and friends. I said to myself "I'll show you!". That was over 10 years ago!

What do you like most about your job?

Photography is a brilliant occupation. Every day is varied, every job is different and you get to work with a wide range of people. Photography is a great combination of technical and creativity.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

"What experience do you have with this type of work?" is a big question to ask.  Can you provide the images in the time required? WIll you be around in 12 months time if I want to do another  shoot like this?

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I always aim to offer the best service that I can, in the time that you require, and at a price that works for both of us. Also, I'm told that I am easy to work with!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Will usually need to know what is to be photographed, where the job is to be done, the deadline for supply of images and the intended usage. Reference images can be handy if you have a particular "look" in mind.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Be organised! Make sure everyone, and everything, required is there at the shoot when needed. 2. Have a clear idea of how the images are to be used, so they can be supplied accordingly 3. Try to fill out at least a half day shoot if possible. It's much more economical. I can advise on this

Like all businesses I strive to keep overheads to a minimum, and reflect this in my pricing. The aim is to provide a quality service at a price that works for both of us.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Charges are calculated for each shoot depending on the complexity of the job, equipment required, time needed for the shoot and the final usage of the images. Each job is priced depending on these factors.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I have covered a broad range of subjects over the years but have specialised in studio product photography. I will often set up studio equipment at a clients premises.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I studied photography many years ago at a Melbourne college, but it is the experience gained working as a photographer ever since that will ensure I give you the images you require.
