Yes, we have public liability insurances in place and all our work is guaranteed. Glass, for example is guaranteed for a period of 10 years and colourbond is guaranteed for life

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Many years ago we used to build swimming pools and also used to manufacture the old metal 'loop-top' style fencing and things progressed from there. Back in those days, glass fencing was only for the rich because the price was ridiculously high compared to what it is now

I like the variety most because no 2 jobs are the same. I get to meet many people in all areas looking for external fencing, internal balustrading etc. Also new home builders looking for shower screens and kitchen splashbacks etc can buy these products from us at competitive prices so they only have one person to deal with

Firstly they should ask how long they have been doing the job and what is their experience. When it comes to glass fencing and balustrading they should be careful about choosing a 'man-with-a-van', because many of these tradespeople simply buy the product from whichever supplier will give it to them at the cheapest price. This does not guarantee that the customer is getting the best available quality for the price they are being charged

Customers usually ask how long we have been operating, what are our installation times and is there a warranty with the products Installation time is the main question we are asked and a typical fence can be installed in just a day or 2 depending on the size - and of course, the weather!

We supplied and installed a glass fence several years ago and after 4 years the customer accidentally broke his glass gate. Since we are wholesalers as well as installers, we have used the same supplier for many years and replacing his gate was simple. Many installers these days simply source materials from the cheapest local supplier and when an accident happens years later, they often cannot remember who they bought the materials from

Obviously we need to know the type of fence that the customer wants along with the approximate dimensions, site plan or site measure is preferred. It costs nothing for us to go out and measure up

1) They can provide a site plan 2) They can pay 50% deposit at the time of order 3) They can ensure that the site is free of obstructions so less time is spent preparing the site

I think everyone needs to be competitive these days no matter what industry they are in, but essentially we are also glass fencing wholesalers that sell direct to the customer, thus cutting out the 'middle-man'

Our charges depend on the product. Colourbond fencing, for example is simply charged at a per-metre rate, whereas glass fencing and balustrading is calculated at cost of materials plus an installation charge

Our speciality is Glass Fencing and balustrading. All glass is made to Australian standards and all our stainless steel fittings are made from 316L stainless steel
