What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

1.  Ask "Are you a licensed Electrical Contractor and are your tradesmen Qualified Electrical Supervisors?"  Don't be afraid to ask to see a copy of the licence. 2.  Ask "Is your company fully insured?"  Don't let the mistakes or accidents of an uninsured "professional" become your next mistake.  we often supply certificates of currency to prove our insurance is current. 3.  Ask them to "commit to a time", don't be talking into waiting around for them all day hoping that they will arrive "sometime between 9:00am and 3:30" !!!  We GUARANTEE, we'll be on time or we'll contact you!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

This is a really difficult question to answer briefly due to the broad array of our services however it's often helpful to know about the construction of the property and the location of the work. For example, one story or two, downstairs or upstairs?.  Tile roof or tin.  Double brick, brick veneer, weatherboard cladding or Fibro.  Accessible ceiling space, no ceiling space or raked ceiling.  Internal wall, external wall, single brick wall or stud wall with Gyprock....get the idea?

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. First of all, check the basics where you feel comfortable to do so.  You'd be surprised how often we are call out and only need flick a switch or reset a circuit breaker in the OFF position. 2. Clear the area you expect we might need to work.  It can be time consuming and therefore expensive for us to be trying to respectfully move personal belongings around. 3. If your budget is tight and you would prefer we don't clean up after ourselves please remember to ask us not to because if you don't ask us, we ALWAYS tidy up after ourselves.
