How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always been around computers, from a young age my dad introduced me to computers and i loved to tinker with them. I then studied Information technology at high school and then progressed into TAFE and have always worked in IT and have a strong passion for anything High Tec - phones, computers, audio visual, tablets.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

My favorite customer story would be the time i saved a companies data. The previous IT company had setup a USB backup but to the customers amazement there was no data on the drives and there was no backups at all. I was able to setup a backup solution on the spot and backed up all the clients data.  This client was very happy and has since recommended me to alot of clients/friends.

What do you like most about your job?

i love the rewarding experience of being able to fix a clients computer and the relief they get when they think they have lost their photos or important documents. It can be quite stressfull when you think you have lost your data on your pc.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Number 1 question i get asked is why did i get that virus - Even though the client was protected they unintentionally approved the installation of they spyware virus by clicking on a link or file in an email. Sometimes this can be in a software update like Adobe Reader.  Education is often the best defense. We sit down with clients and show them ways to protect themselves whilst online.

I have worked in customer service all my working life and only know too well why its important to deliver on excellent customer server. We strive to deliver the best quality service to our customers and go the extra mile to cater for their needs

I always like to ask the following - When did the problem start happening, has anything changed on your PC recently. When was the last time it was working properly. All of this information can help work out what the is the issue.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1) Keep your PC updated and ensure Microsoft Updates and vulnerable applications are updated.  2) Ensure you have Antivirus and keep this up to date and do regular scans  3) Ensure you have a backup in place to keep your data safe.  To many times i have seen customers infected with viruses and lost all their data and it has cost them alot of money. Backups are probably the most important out of the 3.

Our pricing is very competitive and although there are cheaper prices out there we base our pricing on quality service and you are paying for the expertise. We encourage clients to call us first before making a decision purely based on price. If you have been quoted cheaper call our friendly staff to discuss your options.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the type of job requrired we are very up front on our costs and there is no hidden fees that will suddenly be added to the job. Our hourly rate is $89 dollars and if something is more involved we will quote prior to commencing the work.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I don't have an area that i specialise in, i can cover all aspects and if its an area i don't specialise in i have contacts available that i can talk with to get the information i need. For example if i need to patch a cable into a wall i would advise the client this needs to be done by a professional cable technician.
